This Sunday, May 5 from 2 to 4 p.m. is the opening reception for the Fine Arts Senior Exhibition. The show will be up from May 4 to 12. Unlike the previous two senior exhibitions that were curated by the discretion of faculty for Art Education and Crafts and Communication Design, Kim Levin curated this Fine Arts Senior Exhibition. Over 50 Fine Arts students submitted over 200 pieces of artwork and 69 were accepted. An additional 36 pieces were accepted into the Salon des Refusés, a continued show of senior artwork at Eckhaus Gallery. In both shows the artwork varies in mixed media from sculpture, printmaking, painting, photography, digital media, weaving and drawing.
Levin is an independent art critic and her essays have appeared in Art in America, Parkett, Art News, Arts Magazine, Art Journal, Connoisseur, and the American Journal of Archeology. She has been a contributing editor of The Village Voice, Arts Magazine and New York Correspondent for Flash Art and Opus International.
