By The Keystone Newspaper Kutztown Community Partnership to host 2nd Annual Event

Kutztown’s local Fall Fest on Main is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 19 from 3-9 p.m.
Kutztown Community Partnership will host the event. According to KCP board member Nick Timpe, the event has expanded to include a larger area of Main Street with over 90 vendors and community groups.
“We’re bringing together the best parts of our community for an incredible day in Kutztown,” said Timpe.
The evening will feature favorite local food and drink vendors, live bands, a DJ, kids activities, and more.
“We’ve partnered with local shops, the University, student groups, and other community organizations for a day of fun, music, food, and lots of activities,” said Timpe.
According to a KCP press release, this year’s event will feature two stages, one for the Jay Wetzel Band and a DJ who will be hosting line dancing, and a Community Stage where local student and community groups will be performing on the hour.
Timpe said that KCP is also introducing a dunk tank, where attendees can dunk prominent members of the Kutztown Community, including Kutztown University President Dr. Phil Cavalier, Kutztown Area School District Superintendent Christian Temchatin, and the City Cuts Barbershop team.
According to Dawn Medina, owner of the Cottage Bakery and Café, last year’s Fall Fest was successful. “We served hundreds of guests last year, and many of them became repeat customers to our Cafe on Main Street,” said Medina. “This year we’re prepping more brisket, sausage, apple dumplings and cupcakes, and adding street corn, caramel apples, and peach cobbler to our menu.”
Proceeds from this event will be reinvested into KCP’s other programs to support the Kutztown business community.
