By The Keystone Newspaper Students get together to doodle and relax

On Sept. 17 at 11 a.m., KU’s Fine Art and Literary Magazine, Essence, set up tables on Sharadin’s patio to celebrate Doodle Day. The magazine’s members provided large pieces of paper and colored pencils, pens and crayons so students could take a free moment to doodle and relax. Members at the table also taught students about how drawing or doodling relieves stress, improves focus and the retention of concepts.

“Doodle Day is about expressing your artistic self.” Said Mazie Kuhn, President of the Magazine. “And that is what we as a club value and want to share with the Kutztown community: our events we host and the magazine.”
