On Wednesday, Sept. 2, in MSU 218, KU hosted its semesterly Involvement Fair.
At each fair, KU clubs and organizations set up stations promoting their clubs in an attempt to recruit students.
Listed below are a few clubs available for students to get involved with.
African Students Association
The KU African Students Association aims to educate students on the diversity of African culture while also raising awareness for African issues and values.
“We’ve decided to expand our club’s goal so that we can get more people involved,” club member Tyanna said regarding the decision to soon rename the club to the African and Caribbean Club.
The African Students Association is planning a culture week – one where members bring food from their respective culture and educate others about it.
Meetings are held every other Friday from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the MCC.

Communication Career Club
The Communication Club’s goal is to provide students with experiences that help them grow as effective communicators.
Club president, Ben Williams, shared some of their planned workshops to better prepare students for their career objectives.
“We do resume workshops, we do interview workshops, we do a whole lot to try and prepare students for careers in the field of communications,” said Williams.
Meetings are held every other Thursday in Rickenbach 234.
KU Special Olympics
The Special Olympics is a community outreach program that works alongside Special Olympics of Pennsylvania to host and organize the Eastern Spring Sectionals.
“We’re representing Kutztown, but we’re also helping the community and the athletes that are involved,” Administrative Director Micheal Morales said.
Meetings are held every Tuesday at 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Ornithology Club
Ornithology is the specific branch of zoology dedicated to the scientific study of birds. The club is a space for students who already enjoy birding as well as those who are interested in learning more about it.
“We go hiking and go on trips around Kutztown. Sometimes we even travel out of state to go bird watching,” said club member Dylan Weiner. “We have events on weekends where we’ll go out birding. It gives you something fun to do and gets you outdoors.”
Meetings are held on Thursdays at 11 a.m. in Boehm 262.
Photography Association of Kutztown
The Photography Association of Kutztown is a club open to both students and faculty. The club’s goal is to bring people who are interested in photography together and help others better their craft.
The Treasurer of the club, Silas, expressed the variety of events and activities the club hosts.
“We take photographs of any performers, like the drag show and rock ensemble in Schaefer. We also do events like Color Hunt on Main Street, where we’ll go out and take photos of an assigned color,” said Silas.
Meetings are held every other Friday at 5 p.m. in Sharadin 6G.
