Allentown, Pa.—On Sunday, Nov. 3, Homebase Skate shop is hosting the 9th annual Homebase Halloween Skate jam at Keck Skatepark in Allentown, Pa. Costumed skateboarders have been celebrating Halloween here for eight years, and this is the last year the Jam will be held at Keck Park. The new Skate Plaza in nearby Bethlehem, was built to host larger events, so Homebase decided this is the last year the event will be held at Keck.
The Jam is sponsored by Homebase Skateshop, Spitfire, Huf, Real, Vita Coco and Bones Bearings. Events include a best trick contest, a game of skate and the downhill death race. The annual downhill death race is a reckless race down Keck Park’s dilapidated windy sidewalk. The suicide mission for free product winds down the crusty path towards the skaters main objective: to launch off a ramp into a pile of boxes.
The Skate Jam starts at 12 p.m. and includes live music by DJ Arm 18 and Cap Cee, a product toss and free candy. Costumes are required to enter contests and giveaways. For more information check out homebase610.com
