Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) has announced that the Grow PA Scholarship Grant is now open for the 2026-27 school year. Applications can be submitted through April 15 on the PHEAA website.

The Grow PA Scholarship is a grant program created by the Pennsylvania General Assembly to help build the state’s workforce. To be considered for the program, applicants must be undergraduate students who have filed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), be Pennsylvania residents, be enrolled at least half time at a Pennsylvania institution and meet satisfactory academic progress requirements for Title IV financial aid.

The grant focuses on specific workforce needs, identifying 460 eligible programs of study or majors that lead to in-demand occupations in fields such as agriculture, business, education, computer science, STEM, nursing, allied health and criminal justice. A list of eligible programs is available on the PHEAA website.

After graduation, students who received the grant must live and work in Pennsylvania in an in-demand occupation for a number of years equal to the number of years in which they received the grant. Applicants must also sign a Master Promissory Note agreeing to repay all funds received, including any accrued interest, if the work requirement is not met.

The grant is currently in disbursement status and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
