On Sept. 14, 15, and 17, Kutztown University Public Safety & Police Services (KUPD) is offering free rape aggression defense (R.A.D.) classes for the entire university community. No prior training is required to enroll.
Over the three classes, participants will spend a total of 8 hours learning about prevention training, risk reduction and avoidance before progressing to the basics of hands-on defense training. The KUPD covers various types of potential assault, addressing each type with proven self-defense tactics.
The classes are held every Fall and Spring semester and are led by certified R.A.D. instructors. Participants must attend all three classes and complete the 8 hours of training to become R.A.D. certified.
