Various opportunities available for students

The KU Community Outreach Center (COC), KU’s volunteer hub, released local opportunities available to students interested or in need of volunteer hours for February, as well as options for on-campus employment.
Opportunity House in Reading, Pa. is searching for volunteers to assist in preparing and cooking meals and kitchen clean-up. Transportation is provided. The next available date for volunteer registration is on Monday, April 6 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sign-up here.
Saucony Cross Senior Apartments are also looking for volunteers one Friday per month from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Click here for additional information and sign-up.
On March 6, from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Kutztown Strong will be hosting an after school enrichment program in the Recreation Center. They are seeking 15 student volunteers to help lead activities, support kids and to create a positive environment.
Operation Snowflake, a program led by the COC where students shovel snow for seniors and individuals with disabilities, are also seeking student volunteers. The program will run through March. Interested students can find more information and sign-up here.
The COC is hiring an Environmental Issues Coordinator who will be responsible for organizing campus and community clean ups. The student selected for the position will be in charge of facilitating the “Operation Snowflake” program. The application for the position can be found on ENGAGE.
