Summer has ended and classes for the fall semester began on Aug. 25. KU’s newly elected president, Phillip Cavalier spoke on how he soaked up the sun this summer and adjusted to a new environment.

“I moved from Tennessee in early July and have been getting settled into the President’s House, which is lovely,” Cavalier said.

He mentioned how he has spent time over the last few weeks meeting with many of KU’s groups and clubs around campus, as well as alumni and donors, expressing that he has enjoyed learning about the university’s history and culture.
