The event will be held on the DMZ on Sunday, Oct. 27 from 1-3 p.m. The Foundation will provide tents, tables, chairs, sandwiches, snacks, and gift bags for attendees.

Registration is $5 and the link is here.

According to event coordinator Dr. Michael Downing, the focus is to connect current English majors and recent grads with working professionals in the fields of English, writing, editing, communication, public relations, publishing, and social media.

“It’s a great opportunity for current majors to talk to alums working in fields related to English,” said Downing. “It also gives English alums the opportunity to re-connect with one another and with current English faculty,” said Downing. “We’re hoping for a good crowd.”

Current undergrads can bring business cards or resumes if they like—but at the very least—they should establish a LinkedIn account in order to connect with other people professionally in real-time.

KU’s English Advisory Panel includes KU English grads Lisa Mitchell, Christina Steffy, Molly Bilinski, Justin Sweitzer, Morgan Bayer, Evan Santos, and Joanne Rosa.
