KU’s Small Business Development Center to celebrate new photography studio with ribbon cutting ceremony

Golden Bear Visuals will be open to students, small business owners and the public

KU’s Small Business Development Center (KU SBDC) will celebrate its new photography studio, Golden Bear Visuals, with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Sept. 20, at 1 p.m., in Old Main.

Members of the SBDC network, students and other community members are invited to join the KU SBDC to celebrate. After the ribbon cutting, guests will hear from various speakers, who will give short speeches on the studio’s significance to the community. From 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., guests are encouraged to visit Golden Bear Visuals and see the equipment. Student leaders will be available to answer questions about the studio and other KU SBDC services. In addition, visitors can receive a free headshot photo in the new studio.

Golden Bear Visuals features new cameras, microphones, lighting and workspaces for small businesses and the public to utilize. The multimedia studio can be used for product photography, headshots, videography and other visual projects.

“Golden Bear Visuals offers small businesses, entrepreneurs and students access to professional photography equipment, ensuring everyone has the resources they need,” said Rachael Wolfe, Director of Digital Strategy & Leadership Development. “This studio represents the KU SBDC’s commitment to offering no-cost services to its community.”

The KU SBDC offers existing small businesses and early-stage entrepreneurs no-cost consulting services across various industries. KU SBDC professional business consultants offer strategic planning, marketing, technology, financial and operational consultations.

Funding for the studio was provided by the Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP), a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development. Additional support came from M&T Bank, Truist Bank, Customers Bank, Univest Bank and East Penn Manufacturing.Golden Bear Visuals will be available by appointment and select open hours on weekdays.
