By The Keystone Newspaper Students invited to submit poetry, fiction and drama

KU’s Shoofly Literary Magazine is now seeking original poetry, fiction and drama for its 2026 edition. Submissions are open through Nov. 30, 2025.
Writers may submit up to three pieces by emailing shoofly@kutztown.edu.
Each work must be attached as a separate Microsoft Word document in 12-point font; fiction should be double-spaced. To ensure a blind review process, do not include your name on the document. Instead, list your name, KU email address and titles of all submissions in the body of the email.
Shoofly editors encourage creativity across genres but ask contributors not to submit the same work to both Shoofly and Essence Literary Magazine. Writers selected for publication will be notified in April 2026.
Shoofly, KU’s long-running student literary magazine, highlights original voices and publishes one print issue each year. Students interested in learning more about the magazine or its events can follow on Instagram.
