While attendance is not mandatory, participation is encouraged to engage with campus environmental initiatives. Summaries of discussions and upcoming plans will be emailed to those unable to attend.

On off weeks, the club organizes community clean-ups, typically led by executive board members. The EAC also partners with local environmental groups for larger projects. Members are expected to participate in at least two clean-up outings per academic year, while executive board members must attend at least four. Additional participation is encouraged as clean-ups provide valuable hands-on experience and opportunities for club bonding.

The EAC continues to plan environmental trips, with potential destinations including Trexler Nature Preserve, Lehigh Zoo, Pennsylvania Bat Rescue, Longwood Gardens, Crystal Cave, Rodale Institute Farm, Grim’s Farm, and Wildlands Conservancy. More details on upcoming events will be shared throughout the semester.

One of the most significant annual events hosted by the EAC is Earth Week, a week-long initiative dedicated to raising awareness about local and global environmental issues. This event requires extensive preparation throughout the spring semester, as it is a cornerstone of the club’s mission. The campus community is engaged through educational activities, petitions advocating for eco-friendly changes, and outreach efforts to encourage new membership among students and faculty.

As part of Earth Week, the club will host another thrift sale during the first two days of the celebration. Donations of clothing items will be accepted from now until Tuesday, April 22, one week before the event. More details regarding the thrift sale and other Earth Week activities will be provided as the event approaches.

“Our whole goal as the Environmental Action Club is to promote an environmentally sustainable and clean campus community,” EAC President Nicholas Rivera said.
