The eclipse will be total in some areas, such as Erie, Pa., and it will be partially visible from Kutztown, Pa.

For Kutztown, the eclipse will begin around 2 p.m. on April 8.

Those who wish to view the eclipse in partial totality should purchase eclipse glasses. Viewing the eclipse through sunglasses, or even through the camera lens of a cell phone, can cause severe eye injury.

The only instance in which viewers don’t need eclipse glasses is when the eclipse is total, and the sun has been completely blocked. For Kutztown viewers, glasses are necessary since the eclipse will never reach totality from this vantage point.
According to NASA, the next total solar eclipse that will be visible across the United States, from border-to-border, will be on Aug. 23, 2044.
