In an article headlined “Language and general education requirements for majors are unnecessary” published in print on April 12 and online April 13, The Keystone incorrectly implied that a foreign language is a requirement only for English and Professional Writing majors. It is a requirement for all B.A. majors in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. B.S. majors in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences have the option of taking a language to meet their humanities requirements.

One response to “Opinion: Language and general education requirements for majors are unnecessary”

  1. A solid question that needs answers! I asked these questions all four years of my college career and I still don’t understand. Why do I need to take Physics when my major is Human Development? Why do I need to take European History when I’m studying how children develop mentally? Why do I need to take a German film class at all?? I hated all of my gen eds. To this day I firmly believe they were all useless.
Sorry for the rant, but I felt this on another level lol!
