Miller-Keystone blood drive

By Samuel Benning

On Oct. 31, the Community Outreach Center will host a blood donation drive in the Multi-Purpose Room, MSU (room number) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. All participants will automatically be entered into a raffle to win prizes provided by the COC.

Those interested should bring their student IDs and set aside at least an hour for the donation process.

The drive was planned in coordination with the Miller-Keystone Blood Center. Blood donations will be distributed to area hospitals.

Donators must be at least 17 years of age and must not have cold or flu symptoms or be suffering from a fever, sore throat or stomach virus. Those who have received a tattoo within the past year are ineligible, unless it was received at a medical facility.

Before making a donation, Miller-Keystone recommends eating a hearty meal high in sodium and drinking plenty of water or non-caffeinated beverages. Keeping well-hydrated will ensure “a pleasant donation experience.”
