Kutztown University is celebrating the holiday season with an online virtual snow globe featuring the renovated Schaeffer Auditorium. Schaeffer Auditorium was under construction from May 2012 to August 2013 and is now open for university events. The virtual snow globe is a way for the university to showcase the reopening and to spread some holiday cheer.
Director of University Relations, Matt Santos, came up with the idea of the snow globe. “The concept was developed by the University Relations and University Marketing offices in conjunction with the President’s Office. The holiday card has been done annually by the university for many years,” Santos said. “We wanted to feature the newly renovated and expanded Schaeffer Auditorium in a holiday-like scene. We are truly excited about all that Schaeffer has brought to campus this semester, and we wanted to celebrate its reopening.”
Kutztown University Radio will be providing a 30-minute show to go along with the virtual snow globe. The show will feature holiday tunes from the university’s talented music department.
“Together (with KUR manager Mike Regensburger), we are looking forward to a quality radio show production that will be unique to KU. We hope it will be one of the soundtracks of choice for the holiday seasons,” said Santos.
The e-card will be sent to all students, staff, and faculty during the holiday season to view. The link will feature the virtual snow globe and the radio show.
