KU announces spring semester food pantry hours for students

Lutheran Center, Friend Inc. and Bear Essentials Pantry offer resources throughout February

KU’s Community Outreach Center and Office of Student Involvement announced that the Lutheran Center Food Pantry and Friend Inc. Community Services will be open to students during the spring semester. 

Students in need of food or personal items can visit the Lutheran Center Food Pantry, 15175 Kutztown Road, from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 11, and from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday, Feb. 12.

The pantry offers a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, frozen items, canned goods, meats and dairy products, and personal care items.

Friend Inc. Community Services, 658 Noble St., will also provide resources for KU students from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, and from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 20.

The Bear Essentials Pantry, located in MSU 153 across from the KU Campus Store, offers nonperishable food, personal care items, clothing and outerwear and basic school supplies from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Students should bring their KU ID and a reusable bag. 

Students who need food or other resources but cannot attend or do not have transportation to the pantry sites may contact KU Pantry Campus Associate Ryan Turek at 484-547-7340.
