By The Keystone Newspaper Submit your creative works for consideration
By Bethany McDonald
KU’s Shoofly Literary Magazine is currently seeking submissions of original poetry, fiction and drama for its 2027 edition.
Writers may submit up to three creative pieces to shoofly@kutztown.edu. The submission deadline is Monday, Nov. 30.
When submitting, each piece should be attached as its own Microsoft Word document. The Shoofly editorial team selects pieces without knowledge of the author’s identity, so writers should not include their names on any documents.
In the body of the email, include your name, KU address and the titles of all submissions.
All submissions should use a 12-point font. Fiction pieces should be double-spaced. Writers should not submit the same pieces to both Shoofly and Essence.
Writers will be notified of the editorial team’s decisions in March 2027.
Contact the editorial staff at shoofly@kutztown.edu with any questions.
