Strand Theatre announces Halloween weekend screenings

The Strand Theatre in Kutztown announced its plans for Halloween-themed screenings from Friday, Oct. 24, to Sunday, Oct. 26. Tickets will be sold at $8 per person, per movie, and doors will open 30 minutes before each screening.  

The movies shown will range from family-friendly PG films to R-rated thrillers that require ID for entry.

On Oct. 24 at 7 p.m., The Strand will present the early-2000s hit horror film, “28 Days Later.” This movie is rated R, and anyone under the age of 18 will need an adult, parent or guardian to accompany them to the show.

On Oct. 25, there will be a triple header featuring three Halloween favorites. The first film, “Monster House,” will begin screening at 4:00 p.m., followed by the famous 80s paranormal comedy, “Ghostbusters,” at 7:00 p.m. 

To close out the night, The Strand will host a special midnight screening of the 1990 remake of the classic horror masterpiece “Night of the Living Dead,” which is rated R.

Wrapping up the weekend’s events on Oct. 26 will be a 2:00 p.m. showing of the animated blockbuster “Hotel Transylvania”.

Beyond their “Halloween Movie Weekend”, The Strand has also begun selling tickets to an upcoming live show featuring the 60s tribute band, The Large Flowerheads. The event will take place on Sunday, Nov. 2, at 2 p.m. For more information, visit kutztownstrand.com.
