KU Football locks up spot in conference title game

KU wins the PSAC East with over Millersville University

On Saturday, Nov. 2, the KU Golden Bears football team wrapped up the PSAC East title with a 49 to 17 victory over the Millersville Marauders. KU was able to clinch this title having only one game left in the regular season and holding a multiple game lead over the rest of the division. Additionally, KU remains the only undefeated team in the PSAC.

The Golden Bears looked more dominant than even the final score shows, having scored all 49 of their points in the first half. After halftime, KU benched most of its starters, including quarterback Judd Novak, for the entire second half in order to eliminate the risk of injuries.

Before the Golden Bears’ offense even snapped the football, KU jumped out to a 14 to 0 lead thanks to two interceptions that were returned for touchdowns on Millersville’s opening two drives. KU’s offense performed equally as well, with three rushers getting into the end zone, including running backs Jaedyn Stewart and Steven Burkhardt, along with Judd Novak. Novak was also productive through the air, throwing over 200 yards and 2 touchdowns to Mekhi Gibson.

KU will finish off the regular season exactly where it started this Saturday, Nov. 9, at Andre Reed Stadium when they take on West Chester. Next Saturday, Nov. 16, KU will head across the state to take on California University of Pennsylvania in the PSAC conference title game. KU is trying to repeat their efforts from last year, where they earned a decisive victory over Slippery Rock in the PSAC final at home.
