Dining hall desserts aren’t quite cutting it? Don’t worry, there are plenty of places around town that will satisfy your sweet tooth. From late-night sundaes to early morning muffins, Kutztown has you covered. No car? No problem—these five must-visit spots are within walking distance of campus. Lace up those shoes and treat yourself to something delicious.

Rita’s Italian Ice and Frozen Custard

Just because summer break is over, doesn’t mean you have to say goodbye to your favorite frozen treats. From mid-afternoon until 10 p.m., Rita’s serves up Italian ice, gelatis, milkshakes, Blendinis and other frozen treats. On a warm day, enjoy the weather at Rita’s outdoor seating area.

The Cottage Bakery & Café

The cozy café is full of small-town charm and delicious desserts. Browse a delectable menu of cupcakes, cookies, tarts, pies and more mouth-watering confections.  

The Bagel Bar

Known for their iconic “bagelwiches,” the Bagel Bar is a staple breakfast and lunch spot on Main Street. For those with a sweet tooth, indulge in macarons, fresh-baked muffins and other decadent baked goods. Pair your treat of choice with a seasonal beverage for the ultimate experience; September offerings include the Caramel Apple Pie latte, Campfire Song cold brew and Pumpkin Patch cold brew cold foam.

Pop’s Malt Shoppe

Step back in time to the “good old days” at this 50s-themed restaurant, serving up hand-dipped deliciousness, milkshakes, floats and sundaes. Sit down for a full meal at one of Pop’s iconic vintage-style booths, or drop by the ice cream parlor for a quick treat.
