The Frederick Douglas Institute will host a lecture by Dr. SeungEun Min this Thursday, March 7th from 11 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. at the Multicultural Center’s Unity Room.
Dr. SeungEun will deliver a lecture on “The Korean Wave(Hallyu) 3.0: ‘Rethinking Eurocentric Education through South Korean Culture and Education.’” This lecture aims to provide insights and perspectives on the transformative wave of the emergence of Korean Wave 3.0 (Hallyu 3.0). It claims Korean education as a compelling force poised to contest the Eurocentric curriculum and instruction, challenging the Northern/ Euro-centric dominance in global knowledge production in the field of education.
Dr. SeungEun Min is a doctor of philosophy here at Kutztown University who has given a lot of studies on Korean Education, and his thesis was a digital ethnography of Korean elementary teachers participating in Indischool, an online teacher community in South Korea. He is a former South Korean elementary teacher who is passionate about this topic.
