A Christmas celebration

On Sunday, Dec. 7, in Shaeffer Auditorium at 3:30 p.m., KU’s Choir, Vocal Ensemble, Circa & Troubadours will host their second and final concert of the fall 2025 semester.
The Holiday Department Concert is a festive performance filled with holiday music. The choir comes together in the lively celebration, performing classic carols and holiday favorites, creating a joyful atmosphere that brings the community into the Christmas spirit to close out the semester.

Four pieces will be performed–the first two songs, “Deck the Halls,” arranged by John Rutter and “Carol of the Bells,” arranged by Peter J. Wilhousky, will be performed by the University Choir. The other two songs, “Fum, Fum, Fum,” arranged by Derric Johnson and “Veni, Veni Emmanuel,” arranged by Michael John Trotta, which is the Latin name/version for “O come, O come, Emmanuel,” will be performed by Vocal Ensemble, Circa & Troubadours
Songs “Deck the Halls,” “Fum, Fum, Fum,” and “Veni, Veni Emmanuel” will be conducted by KU Choir Director, Dr. Derek Thompson. “Carol of the Bells” will be conducted by Senior Assistant Director and Bass Section Leader, Samuel Repko, and Atsuko Hanson as the pianist.
