The KU Baseball team split their double header on Saturday, March 8 against St. Michael’s College. KU took game one after battling back from an early four to nothing hole. Following St. Michael’s early barrage, starter Paul Moretski settled in and did not surrender a run after the second inning. With the Golden Bears putting up nine unanswered runs, Moretski was able to get his first win of the season.
Dalton Furst led the way offensively throughout the day with three hits, one run batted in, and three runs scored in game one. He followed that up with four hits and three runs batted in during game two of the day.
Though Kutztown’s offense played well once again in game two, it wasn’t enough. In a high scoring battle similar to many games this season for the Golden Bears, St. Michael’s got the win with a final score of 15-9. Despite the loss, Kutztown still went 3-1 on the weekend, pulling to within one game of a 500 record.
