On Wednesday, Dec. 11 around 5:45 p.m., students evacuated Dixon Hall due to a fire emergency in the residence building. Local fire companies and emergency personnel reported to the scene.
Students were allowed back in the building around 7:30 p.m.
The KU Office of University Relations released a statement following the evacuation.
“This evening, a fire was reported in a recycling room on the third floor of Dixon Hall. Local fire companies responded and have the issue under control. There are no injuries. Residents have been cleared to return to the hall,” the statement said.
