The KU football team took their game on the road on Saturday, Oct. 15 for a PSAC East conference battle with East Stroudsburg. The Warriors came into the game at 4-2 overall, 2-1 in the PSAC East.

The Golden Bears, coming off signature wins over West Chester and Bloomsburg looked to win their fourth straight victory, after starting the season 0-3.

The first half was tightly contested as ESU took an early 7-0 off of a two-yard run from Robert Healy. Not even a minute later, KU answered with QB Collin DiGalbo running to the house, a 19-yard dash to tie the game at 7-7 with 6:12 to play.

Craig Reynolds ran 51 yards for the KU touchdown late in the first quarter to give the Golden Bears a 14-7 lead. The touchdown run was the first of many for Reynolds throughout the game.

After a defensive possession to start the second quarter, KU received the ball back with 13:14 to play. The Golden Bears took a 21-7 lead after a 42-yard pass from DiGalbo to Nathan Hollander. The TD catch was Hollander’s fourth touchdown of the season thus far.

Late in the second quarter, ESU got two quick scores off of the KU defense, a 39-yard field goal from Nicolas Ruiz and a 38-yard passing touchdown from Tim DiGiorgio to Tommy House. KU still held the lead at 21-16 going into the second half.

Craig Reynolds demonstrated his talent after two straight rushing touchdowns, a 17-yard and 43-yard run respectively. James Wah Jr. kept the scoring barrage going with a two-yard run of his own. With 8:11 to play in the fourth quarter, KU took a huge 42-16 lead over ESU.

After a 50-yard pass from ESU QB Tim DiGiorgio to Javier Buffalo to make the score 42-23, KU got Wah, Jr. involved once again, with a 42-yard sprint to the end zone to give the Golden Bears an insurmountable 49-23 lead with 6:41 to play in regulation.

ESU got one more score with a 36-yard run from Robert Healy, but KU got the win, their fourth straight, 42-30.

RB Craig Reynolds was the king of records Saturday night, as his 261 rushing yards was the most in a single game by a KU player. The amount was part of a total of 459 yards rushing by KU, also a single game record. Reynolds also broke the KU single-game record for all-purpose yards with a total of 345. His three rushing scores gives the redshirt-sophomore a total of 12 on the season, tied for fifth all-time in KU history.

DB Jake Perry hauled in two interceptions for KU, his fourth and fifth on the season. Perry leads the PSAC in interceptions so far.

With the fourth straight victory, KU is now 4-0 in the PSAC East, their best conference start since a 6-0 start in the 2010 season. They currently hold a one game lead over Shippensburg and West Chester. The Golden Bears will look to push the winning streak to five games as Lock Haven comes to town on Saturday Oct. 22 at 1:05 p.m. for KU homecoming.
