KU Allies are bringing GREASE to Kutztown on March 27. The show is open to the public at 7 p.m. in MSU 218. The KU Allies will perform GREASE as a shadow cast performance. The film will be playing on a screen in the background, while the actors join in with the film for certain scenes and act along with the movie. Audience participation is encouraged in the form of singing and dancing along.

The success of the Allies’ fall performance of Rocky Horror Picture Show motivated the KU Allies to host a spring performance. The audience is encouraged to dress up like the characters from GREASE just like students did for Rocky Horror to add to the fun of it. Crowd goers should wear GREASE inspired clothing like leather jackets, white t-shirts, and poufy skirts.

“There is a specific Danny and Sandy. Danny is played by Allies president Dylan Warren and Lauren Sobczak is Sandy,” said Jennifer Yost, the Public

Relations manager of Allies. “I am playing Rizzo and Ashley Mecca is playing Kenickie . We have two more members playing small roles; their names are Trisha Tomasko, who is also the chair and Rachael Dechert is playing a male. I am also playing Cha Cha. We didn’t have too many people audition, so we had to make accommodations.”

Jerry Schearer, assistant dean, is excited for students to take part in this exciting show.

“It’s a fun and relaxing way to forget your troubles, sing along and enjoy the show,” said Schearer.

Yost and Tomasko have been working hard since January on this production with all the students involved with Allies.
